15th OIC Summit Update:

Banjul, May 2nd 2024: The  first phase of the preliminary meetings of the 15th edition of the Organisation of the Islamic Corporation (OIC) Summit in Banjul – Senior Officials’ preparatory meeting – is done, with the ‘Draft Resolution on the Issue of Palestine and Al-Quds Ash-Sharif’, ‘Draft Final Communiqué’, and ‘Banjul Draft Declaration’ as outcomes of the 2-day confab.
The discussions were dominated by issues related to Palestine in view of the recent atrocities in Gaza.

Today’s proceedings will feature the Foreign Affairs Ministerial Meeting. Foreign Ministers of Member States will convene at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre later in the evening to adopt the

draft materials worked out by the technical team of senior officials in the last two days. 
The OIC secretary-general will present a report at the summit reviewing the most prominent activities, programs, and projects undertaken by the organization since the previous session of the Islamic Summit Conference.


The conference, which will peak on 4th -5th May, will ultimately issue a final communiqué that includes the organization's positions on the issues submitted to the summit, a resolution on Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif, and the Banjul Declaration.
