The president of Confederation of African Volleyball Madam BouchraHajij on Saturday paid a courtesy
call on the Minister of Youth and Sports Bakary Badjie at his office in Banjul as part of her four-day
official visit to Gambia.
President Bouchra is on visits to member countries to meet leaders and discuss strategies as to how to
develop volleyball.
Minister Badjie thanked CAVB boss and reiterated his continuous support to volleyball.
President Bouchra on her part thanked the government of The Gambia through the Minister for the
support rendered to the volleyball and beach volleyball in The Gambia.
Madam Bouchra Hajij also paid a special visit to the president of Gambia National Olympic Committee
(GNOC) Ms Beatrice Allen at her office in Bakau on the day, Saturday.
Ms Allen reaffirmed her continuous support to beach volleyball in particular as she plans to lay down
plans ahead of Paris 2024 to make beach volleyball qualify to the Olympics.
President Bouchra on her part, thanked the GNOC leadership of her support to volleyball and reassured
the CAVB's readiness to give financial, technical and moral support to the development of volleyball.
The Moroccan who assumed leadership of African Volleyball in 2020 presided over the Zone II volleyball
General Assembly on Sunday, September 4th at Ocean Bay Hotel where the bureau met for the first
time on site after Gambia's Bai Dodou Jallow assumed that office in 2020.
