The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Security, Hon. Demba Sabally, recently led a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture, to the 33rd Session of the FAO Regional Conference for Africa (ARC33).
The 33rd Session of the Regional Conference for Africa held in Rabat, Morrocco, aimed to put a spotlight on the FAO Strategic Framework 2022-2031 and the four betters; better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life, leaving no one behind.
The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Resilient agrifood systems and inclusive rural transformation’.
Dr. Sabally joined the Ministerial panel discussion on the theme: Inclusive Rural Transformation in Africa: Agriculture, Mechanisation, Digitalisation, Women and Youth.
On the margins of the conference, Dr. Sabally had bilateral with the Director General of FAO Dr. Qu.
Inter alia they discussed support for the implementation of the livestock master plan, the commission of the feasibility study establishing a dam in The Gambia through the ‘Hand in Hand’ initiative.
The minister concluded by thanking the Director for the South-South cooperation project for the rice millet.
