Hon. Minister Rohey John-Manjang called for continuity of teamwork to achieve our developmental goals as she recently officially closed a 3-day retreat held in Mansakonko, Lower River Region (LRR).
The objective of the annual retreat is to assess the achievements and challenges faced during the implementation of the 2023 work plan and also review the 2024 annual work plans of the various departments, units, and projects.
Minister John-Manjang further urged the team to continue carrying forward the clarity gained, align the goals, and collaborate effectively for the development of the sector. She added that collective efforts during the retreat would contribute to the success of upcoming projects.
“We have a responsibility to deliver; sometimes unexpected things may come our way but we have to find ways around the man-made challenges and overcome them. Individually we can do our bits and collectively we can achieve the results,” Minter Manjang noted.
In his welcome remarks, PS Ebrima Jawara said at the end of the retreat they would set the ball rolling to achieve their targets for this year, as he welcomed the participants to the 2024 annual retreat.

Presenting on the outcome of COP28, DPS Bubacarr Zaidi Jallow highlighted that at COP28, discussions continued setting new collective quantified goal on climate finance in 2024, taking into account the needs and priorities of developing countries. The new goal, which will start from a baseline of USD100 billion per year, will be a building block for the design and subsequent implementation of national climate plans that need to be delivered by 2025.
