Gambia to Host Next Conference of Ulemahs

His Excellency President Adama Barrow received in audience the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (WML), Dr. Abdulqader Ahmad Al-Mashhor at State House in Banjul recently.

Dr. Al-Mansour met President Barrow to discuss the hosting of the conference of Ulemahs in Africa in The Gambia on 4th December 2022.The objective of the conference is to preach peace, harmony and multi-religious tolerance by Muslims.

The conference will be attended  by African Heads of States, Ministers in charge of religious affairs and intellectuals (Ulemahs)from  across the continent.

Speaking to the press shortly after his discussion with the President, Dr.AbdulqaderAhmad Al- Mashhor said that World Muslim League chose The Gambia as  host for this significant gathering due to the President’s willingness and the progressive nature of The Gambia. According to him, the conference will bring together African Ulemahs to discuss the affairs of the 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide

He further urged the Muslim elites to endorse the conference so as to promote unity in the continent. The second session of the conference will be dedicated to interfaith dialogue of different religious leaders including Christians. He implore all  learn to live together in peace and harmony  despite  our differences .

The special envoy was accompanied to State House by The Gambia’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Omar Gibril Sallah and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, MomodouTangara.
