Gambian Appointed SOC President at Confederation of African Volleyball

The president of Gambia Volleyball Federation Bai Dodou Jallow has gained another continental trust after being appointed as the president of Sport Organizing Commission (SOC) of the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) for 2024 - 2028. Jallow’s appointment came on the background of his unprecedented role played in the development of volleyball around Africa during his time as CAVB board member, where he successfully led Zone II, championing the growth of volleyball in the sub- region.

The volleyball Gambia head had incredible success traits during his time as president of the national federation. Leading Gambia to so many international feats notably, winning the African Games beach volleyball in 2019, qualifying to two world championships, playing at the Commonwealth Games and getting Gambia indoor women and men teams to African Games in 2023. At home front, under his leadership Gambia continue to see a rapid development in the national league and rapid growth of youth development.

This entire incredible feat stem to his leadership qualities and deep understanding in Sport administration. It is important to note that the CAVB Sport Organizing Commission is one of the core pillars of the Confederation with the responsibility of organizing and leading CAVB sport events and Continental volleyball and beach volleyball competitions. This is yet another important achievement for The Gambia at large. The Gambia Volleyball Federation would sent its gratitude to the Confederation of African Volleyball under the leadership of Madam Bouchra Hajij.
