Banjul, 08 July 2025: Under the dynamic leadership of Ndey Fatou Jabang, founder and CEO of Flex Fuzion Entertainment and Dance Academy, and President of the African Committee of the World Federation of Acrobatic Dance and Dance Sports, three talented Gambian dancers are currently participating in an intensive international summer dance training in Moscow, Russian Federation.
This elite training, organised by the World Federation of Acrobatic Dance and Dance Sports, runs until July 14, 2025, bringing together dancers from around the world for intensive sessions in modern dance, jazz, acrobatic rock ‘n’ roll, acro-swing, gymnastics, and classical ballet.
The trio has already made international footprints representing The Gambia at the 2024
Acrobatic Rock ‘n’ Roll World Championship in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and again at the World Cup in Dakar, Senegal, in March 2025, where they emerged as semi-finalists, a major milestone for the Gambian Acrobatic Dance industry.
Speaking from Moscow, Yasai Joof, leader of the delegation, shared her excitement: “This training is a dream come true. It helps me sharpen my skills and better coach the next generation of Gambian dancers for international stages. I appreciate the incredible work Flex Fuzion is doing to uplift dance in The Gambia,” she highlighted.
She extended her heartfelt appreciation to Mrs. Ndey Fatou Jabang, attesting to the fact that her commitment and passion are the backbone of their success. “Through her vision, we are not just dancing, we are building careers, breaking barriers, and flying the Gambian flag high,” Joof remarked of Mrs Jabang.
In her remarks, Mrs. Jabang reflected on the journey. “Building a professional dance brand over the past decade has not been an easy journey. But today, I see the results of our sacrifices; we have created international linkages and platforms for young Gambians to showcase their talents globally,” she asserted.
She also expressed gratitude to Hon. Lamin Manga, Consul of the Russian Federation in The Gambia for his continued support in making this trip a reality; the President of the World Federation of Acrobatic Dance and Dance Sports for her exceptional leadership, as well as to the National Centre for Arts and Culture (NCAC) and the Ministry for Tourism and Culture for their ongoing support.
According to Hassoum Ceesay, Director General of the NCAC, “Flex Fuzion’s participation in such a high-profile international course is a proud moment for The Gambia. It is a testimony to how far Gambian dance has come and how cultural exchange continues to strengthen ties between The Gambia and the Russian Federation,” he emphasised.
The delegation comprises Ms. Yasai Joof (Gambia’s first certified coach in Acrobatic Rock ‘n’ Roll), Daniel Taylor, and Mariama Camara, both experienced performers from the Flex Fuzion Dance Academy.
