During their official visit on 22nd November 2022, the High Commission of the Republic of The Gambia in India signed an MoU with Vishwakarma Group (Institutes & University) in India, on the areas of education and research, and with a specific focus on undergraduate scholarships in: Engineering, Architecture, Commerce & Management, Computer Science, Media & Communication, Social Sciences, and Science & Technology fields of study (20 Slots); Engineering, Technology, and Vocational Education, and Training (TVET) fields of study (10 Slots).
The High Commissioner of the Republic of The Gambia in India, Mr. Mustapha Jawara signed on behalf of The Gambia in the presence of Dr. Yusupha Touray, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology.
According to the PS of MoHERST, these scholarships will be administered as they fit positively within the current tertiary and higher education reform agenda, as well as the TVET decentralisation drive being pursued by the Ministry.
