Gambia’s Transitional Process a Model for Other Countries – Visiting Chadian State Minister

The  State Minister of the Republic of Chad, Adown Younousni, was in the country as special envoy of the Chadian head of state Mahamat Idriss Deby to His Excellency President Adama Barrow.

Speaking to journalists shortly after a closed-door meeting with President Barrow Honourable Adown Younousni said  the bilateral relationship between Chad and The Gambia remains cordial.

Updaing on the state of the transition in Chad, he said the Chadian head of state is committed to the full implementation of the transitional charter signed by all stakeholders in the country.

The envoy went on to recognise that The Gambia’s transitional process serves as a model to other countries.

Mr Adown Younousni, therefore commended the Gambian leader for his commitment to democracy, peace and stability.

In a different engagement, President Barrow also received ward councilors from Brikama Area Council, West Coast Region. The councilors are from NPP, APRC and other parties.

Mrs. Fatoumatta Jallow, Councilor for Kunkujang Keitaya ward in Old Yundum constituency expressed honour and appreciation to the President for granting them an audience.

She added that their meeting centered on the  upcoming local government elections in 2023, as they want the president to support them in any possible manner.

She further stated that they are happy with  the President, describing him as a leader for the whole country, who believes in inclusiveness and tolerance.
