Qatar Charity Foundation Explores Partnership with Gender Ministry

Banjul, 14  May 2026: A delegation from the Qatar Charity Foundation on Tuesday paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Welfare, Fatou Kinteh, to discuss potential areas of partnership and collaboration.
The meeting, held at the Minister’s office, focused on advancing social protection initiatives, women’s empowerment, and support for vulnerable groups across The Gambia.
Speaking during the engagement, Hon. Kinteh welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for the Foundation’s continued interest in supporting humanitarian and development efforts in the country. She highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing programmes and priorities, particularly in the areas of gender equality, child protection, and community development.
The Minister also thanked the Foundation’s new Country Director for the visit and underscored the importance of strategic partnerships in strengthening service delivery and ensuring interventions reach those most in need, especially women, children, and persons with disabilities.
The new Country Director of the Foundation, Mahmoud Shaker, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to supporting The Gambia through impactful interventions. He further expressed readiness to work closely with the Ministry in identifying key areas of engagement aligned with national development priorities.
The meeting concluded with both parties expressing optimism about future collaboration and a shared commitment to improving the welfare and livelihoods of vulnerable populations.
