The Vice President of The Republic of The Gambia, His Excellency, Mohammed B.S Jallow, last week received in audience at his office, a team of dedicated medical professionals from Aakash Healthcare Super Specialty Hospital in New Delhi, India.
The visiting team hosted by the Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow Foundation marks a significant step towards strengthening the country’s healthcare system.
Vice President Mohammed B.S Jallow affirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to providing top-notch healthcare services to all citizens. The visit, he noted, reflects the spirit of cooperation and goodwill that transcends borders.
Dr. Aashish Chaudhry, the Managing Director of Aakash Healthcare Super Specialty Hospital, expressed his delight at the warm welcome they received and shared the fantastic news that more than 400 patients have already benefited from their world-class healthcare services.
“This is our first visit to The Gambia and we’re very happy with the response. We pledge to come back for more extensive surgical camps,” Dr. Chaudhry promised.
The team was accompanied by Madam Aji Fatou Joof, First Secretary at the Gambian High Commission in New Delhi
In another engagement, The Vice President of The Gambia, H.E Mohammed B.S Jallow received members of the Gambia’s National Youth Parliament (NYP).
During the meeting, Fruitful discussions were made on vital topics like irregular migration and youth empowerment. The delegation also officially presented the 17-point resolution of the National Youth Parliament, derived from its inaugural ordinary session this year.
Mr. Omar Champion Cham, Speaker of the NYP, expressed pleasure in meeting the Vice President. Similarly, Vice President Jallowemphasised the government’s commitment to empowering the youth of The Gambia and assured that they will be actively involved in the implementation of the National Development Plan (NDP).
