Khalif General Sering Omar Kebbeh Laid to Rest

Death has been announced of the Khalif General of Neilul Huda in The Gambia, Mawlana Sering Sait Omar Kebbeh. He died on Friday, 14 of October 2022 in Dakar, Senegal after a brief illness. He was laid to rest on the same day at his home   Madinatul Anwarr, Banyaka, in Kombo South, West Coast Region.

Late Mawlana Sering Sait Omar Kebbeh was a staunch and influential follower of the Tariqatul Tijania. Originally from Ndungu Kebbeh, North Bank Region, the respected Islamic scholar had always appealed to the disciples to be God-fearing and to always glorify Allah and dispel innovations in Islam.

Sering Sait pledged allegiance to Mawlana Sheikh Imam Kabir Barry (Foyadati) of Wellingara Walo in Senegal and drew inspiration from him as his spiritual leader. Imam Kabir gave him authority to carry on the teachings of inward relationship with Allah as prescribed by Sheikh Ahmad Al-Tijani.

He was a pious and devoted scholar with rare and precious qualities. He spent most of his days and nights evoking Allah and praying upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He was known to have subscribed to the ideals of acceptance and faith in the divine reward.

Sering Sait was a caring father overflowing with love and mercy.
