As part of his efforts to address healthcare gaps in rural areas, H.E. President Adama Barrow, last week inaugu-rated a Health Care Centre in one of the most underserved and economically disadvantaged communities in The Gambia, Kiang Jali.
Named after the Alkalo of the Village, Alkali Nyakudi Drammeh, the health centre represents a huge milestone in im-proving healthcare access for the residents of Jali.
First of its kind in the village, the health centre features state-of-the-art facilities including maternity wards, labour rooms equipped with modern labor beds and individual toilets, drug stores, and separate wards for male and female patients.
During the inauguration ceremony, President Barrow toured the centre, accompanied by the Hon. Minister of Health, Dr. Samateh, who detailed the purpose and function of the new equipment.
