Banjul, 13 May 2026: The Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources (MECCNAR), through the Central Project Coordinating Unit (CPCU), is developing a District Health Information Software 2 (DHIS2) System Requirements Specification (SRS) for a Monitoring and Evaluation Management Information System (MEMIS), designed to track performance across its multi-project portfolio.
According to Mr. Kebba Sanneh of the Monitoring and Evaluation Office at the CPCU, the system is a key step toward strengthening data-driven decision-making and improving coordination across projects under the Ministry.
Mr. Sanneh noted that once operational, MEMIS will enhance transparency, accountability, and real-time performance tracking, enabling more effective monitoring of project results and outcomes.
The development process is being supported through a three-day engagement at the Ministry of Health ICT Unit in Kairakonko, Lower River Region, in line with national ICT standards. It is guided by the Memorandum of Understanding between the CPCU and the Ministry of Health ICT Unit, ensuring strong institutional collaboration and interoperability in digital systems development.
This initiative highlights MECCNAR’s commitment to strengthening project monitoring systems, improving data governance, and promoting evidence-based decision-making to enhance the effectiveness and impact of all ongoing and future projects.
