Meet the People Tour Begins

His Excellency President Adama  Barrow, today, Monday 21st November 2022 set out for the con constitutionally mandated nation-wide ‘Meet the People Tour.

The constitution of The Gambia mandates the President to tour the country and meet the public to hear about their challenges, assess their conditions and layout government’s policy responses to their struggles.

The occasion also gives the President the opportunity to discuss with the public his recurrent and planned policies and development programmes, as well as the current global crises mainly due to the lingering impact of the COV- ID-19 pandemic on global economies, exacerbated by the Ukraine-Russia war, and his government’s plans to ameliorate the impact of these incidents.

The President and his accompanying senior government officials and techni cians are expected to hold public meet ings, and spot visits to development projects undertaken by his government. He will use the opportunity to reiterate his call for unity, social cohesion, and harmony in the pursuit of peace, security and socioeconomic and  politi cal progress of the country under the theme, “Together we can Accelerate SocioEconomic Growth and Maintain Peace and Stability” The tour is expected to last for about 21 days.
