Staff from the Technical Services under the Ministry of Transport, Works and Infrastructure, on Thursday, 26th January embarked on a general cleaning exercise popularly known as set-settal of the surrounding of the Ministry.
The cleaning exercise was meant to keep the Ministry clean and tidy from all forms of dirty materials and in addition, beautify the complex.
The staff took it upon themselves to clean the immediate surroundings of the Ministry, which was seen as a step in the right direction.
The Gambia Daily learned that this was not the first time such an exercise was carried out by the staff of the Ministry of Transport, Works and Infrastructure.
“We used to do similar exercises in the past. This is very important and I believe other institutions in government should emulate the Ministry’s move,” said an old staff from the Ministry who wants to remain anonymous.
Just recently, the government announced the resumption of set-settal in all seven regions of the country following a long break from the exercise.
