His Excellency President Adama Barrow on Friday 28th October 2022, received in audience Professor Gibril Faal, Programme Director of Millennium Sustainable Development Goal (MSDG) Project.
Speaking to the press shortly after meeting with the President, Professor Gibril Faal said that the MSDG project has been working with the government of the Gambia through the Office of the President, since February 2017 and that the relationship has grown stronger.
He informed that his office wants to implement many projects and that their first point of call is the ministry of Foreign Affairs through Diaspora and Migration Directorate.
He noted that the work of the MSDG goes across departments, agencies and ministries, and that the role of the Office of the President as a facilitator remains important.
Mr Faal acknowledged the ongoing restructuring and the availability of a chief of staff who will be supporting the work of the MSDG so that they can enhance their engagements with different entities across the country.
He also recognised that the government is committed to reforms; as manifested by the setting up of the new ministry of Public Service Polciy, Administrative Reforms and Delivery.
