The new Ambassador for the People’s Republic of China to The Gambia, His Excellency Lin Jin, on Thursday, 10th November 2022, presented his letter of credence to His Excellency President Adama Barrow at the State House in Banjul. He has replaced Ambassador Ma Jianchun, whose tenure in office came to an end.
Ambassador Lin Jin said that as the new ambassador, it is his responsibility and duty to promote the bilateral relationship between the two countries. He stated that since The Gambia and China resumed diplomatic relations in the past six years, the people have witnessed rapid and comprehensive development of the two countries’ bilateral relations.
He further noted that the relationship is based on mutual trust, support and respect and the two countries are friends and reliable partners.
Ambassador Lin Jin commended the progress made by The Gambia Government and the people within the short time under the leadership of President Adama Barrow.
“The president has made a lot of progress in economy and social development, and as friends of The Gambia, we are happy to see this progress and we promise to give more support on the social and economic development,’’ he said.
He was accompanied to State House by Honorable Momodou Tangara, Minister of Foreign Affairs International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad.
