“OIC Summit presents crucial opportunity for dialogue, advancement of shared goals among member nations” - OIC Gambia Secretariat CEO

Having declared The Gambia as fully ready to host the heads of OIC state and governments’ on May 4th and 5th, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of OIC-Gambia Secretariat, Mr. Yankuba Dibba, describes the 15th Summit of the OIC as one that presents a crucial opportunity for dialogue, collaboration, and the advancement of shared goals among member nations.

“With all arrangements in order, The Gambia stands prepared to facilitate fruitful discussions and initiatives during the summit,” he affirmed.

The CEO presided over a press conference in the afternoon of May 2nd ahead of the Council of Foreign Affairs Ministers’ Meeting.

He informed that senior officials of the various participating countries are in town.

“In the next 48 hours, we are expecting the arrival of the heads of state as well,” he added.

The CEO further revealed that in terms of logistics, everything is in place - vehicles, accommodation, and protocol.

“All our delegates are upbeat, and they are conducting their meetings in a cozy environment and we expect this to continue to the rest of the event,” he reassured.

In his intervention during the press conference, the Minister of Information, Dr. Ismaila Ceesay confirmed 100% representation of the 57 OIC member states in Banjul for the summit.CEO

“The preparatory stage is so far successful, senior government officials have met for the past two days to come up with resolutions preparing a communiqué and final declaration on issues; ranging from Palestine-Israel conflicts, issues on women, youths and other related matters affecting the Muslim world,” the Minister remarked.

The Head of Brand and Communication Manager of the OIC Gambia Secretariat, Nfally Fadera announced that about 40 VVIP and VIPs including presidents, prime ministers, vice presidents, and deputy prime ministers have so far confirmed their attendance of the Banjul Islamic Summit.
