In a flurry of diplomatic engagements President Barrow has, from last week been busy receiving letters of credence from Ambassadors and High Commissioners Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of various countries.
Speaking on the occasions, the President expressed honour welcoming the diplomats to The Gambia and expressed wiliness to consolidate the friendly relationships and cooperation between the Government and People of the Republic of The Gambia and the Governments and Peoples of the respective countries.
“I kindly request Your Excellencies to convey to your respective Heads of State and Government my sincere brotherly greetings and best wishes and the assurances of our readiness to expand the scope of the mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries, particularly in responding to our shared aspiration of a prosperous, stable, and peaceful world”.
To succeed in pursuing this goal, President Barrow calls on them “to maintain our firm commitment to the extensive and dynamic cooperation and collaboration among the governments and peoples of our countries. This, he added calls for maintaining active partnerships and constant dialogue. “We must create the space for our peoples to build beneficial partnerships. Your Excellencies have critical roles to play in accomplishing these goals and we look forward to your active involvement in this regard. The Gambia Government, through the Recovery-Focused National Development Plan (RF NDP), is most willing to collaborate with all countries and partners to yield mutually rewarding outcomes. Our policies and State institutions are orientated to ensure the realisation of this goal”.
He finally called on them “to vigorously engage the relevant national stakeholders to make the most of the opportunities at their disposal”.
