President Barrow Visits OIC Roads Project, Others

His Excellency Adama Barrow, accompanied by ministers and senior government officials, on Wednesday, 14th December 2022, visited the ongoing road construction in the Kanifing Municipality as part of the 50km OIC roads project.

The President and delegation also visited the mausoleum for the late Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara, currently under construction at the National Assembly in Banjul.

The presidential delegation was taken on a conducted tour of the one-storey building by Honorable Ebrima Sillah, the Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure, and his team of technicians on site.

From the National Assembly, the famous Banjul project was the next stopping point for the president and delegation where he was received by Mr. Hadim Gai, contractor of the city project.

The Banjul project aimed to rehabilitate the entire drainage and sewage systems and reconstruct some identified streets in an attempt to uplift the face of the capital.

Similar visits were also conducted on Tuesday at the new VVIP Lounge currently under construction at the Banjul International Airport.

The new Brikama market was also visited and some parts of the Brufut road project as well.

The Gambian leader used the opportunity to call on the different contractors to make sure they worked toward meeting deadlines. He further told them to deliver quality work at the end of the projects and assured of his government’s support.
