PSC Pays Tribute to Late Vice Chairman Sam Jaiteh

The Chairman of the Public Service Commission (PSC) has described the former Vice Chairman of the Public Service Commission (PSC), who passed away recently, as a phenomenal leader and distinguished patriot who has left a legacy of inspirational service for the country.
Mr. Baboucarr A. Suwareh made this remarks during an exclusive interview with Gambia Daily shortly after the burial of the late Lamin Sam Jaiteh, fondly called Sam Jaiteh.
The Late Sam Jaiteh passed away mid-night on Friday, March 15, 2024,and was laid to rest at his native village of Pakalinding in the Lower River Region on Saturday, March 6, 2024,at 5pm.
On behalf of the staff of the Public Service Commission (PSC) staff and Personnel Management Office (PMO) and the nation at large, Mr Suwareh extended condolences to the bereaved family. 
“We pray that Allah the Almighty will grant the late Sam Jaiteh’s family and all of us the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss. Late Sam Jaiteh was not just my friend and brother, but a man that brought joy to many Gambians; more especially in the education sector,” he said.
According to the Chairman, the deceased will be remembered as a gallant citizen who contributed immensely towards the development of education sector in The Gambia and the civil service in general.
“Not only did late Lamin Sam Jaiteh dedicate his entire life to the development of education in the country, but he had also without respite worked to change the lives of many Gambians in all sectors,” he said.
The Chairman finally described the demise of late Sam Jaiteh as an overwhelming tragedy that is shocking beyond comprehension.
Thousands of people in LRR and beyond paid their last respect to the late Lamin Sam Jaiteh.
