The Minister of Public Service and the Deputy Chief of Staff, who doubles as the Head of Department of Strategy and Policy Development (DSPD) last week expressed their appreciation to Lamin Koto and Janjangbureh Programme for Accelerated Community Development (PACD) project for having clean bank accounts.
Hon. Baboucarr Bouy and Mr. Alieu Loum showed their appreciation to the two communities in day two of their visit to PACD project sites in North Bank, Central River, Lower River and West Coast Regions.
“Your Bank accounts indicated to us that your project is going in the right direction, and we are optimistic that it is benefiting your communities,” the Minister said.
The two senior government officials advised the two communities to continue their financial contribution and also keep records of their expenditures, as the only way to sustain the project.
They also advised the communities to take full ownership of the project because, noting that there are many communities in the country who are in need of such project, and are unable to have it for now.
Kaddy Jawla and Lamin Fanta Jawla of Lamin Koto tractor management committee; and Moriba Jallow, President of the Rice Growers Society of Janjangbureh and her Vice President Mrs. Buntung Gannes both welcomed Minister Bouy and team’s visit to their project sites.
Before proceeding to Jimbala Ali Incha, Minister Bouy and team made a stop-over at Alhagie Cham Arafat Welding workshop, where they made a conducted tour of the premises. The workers explained to them the different types of machines they locally make.
Key among the machines they made are ones for the coos milling, rice grinding, and key tractor parts, poultry feeding grinding machines among others
Similar visit was made in the PACD project sites at Mureh Kunda, Mana Koto Foday/Mana Koto Keita joint borehole project and Kumbija in the URR, Kwinella Nyakunda in LRR, Foni Mayork and Sanghajorr in WCR coss milling and threshing machines.
Minister Bouy’s delegation included, Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Public Service, Pateh Jah; Deputy Chief of Staff and Head of DSPD, Mr. Alieu Loum; Economic Growth Cluster Lead at UNDP, Samba Jallow; and Director, Delivery, Ministry of Public Service, Mr. Amet Sallah.
