Qatar Ambassador Impressed with Gambia’s Efforts in Hosting the OIC Summit

On the sidelines of the second day of the preparatory meeting of senior officials for the 15th session of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in Banjul, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mamadou Tangara, held a bilateral meeting with His Excellency Muhammed Ali Salim Al-Kawari, the Qatari Ambassador to The Gambia.


During this bilateral meeting, Ambassador Al-Kawari commended The Gambia’s efforts to host the current OIC summit and reiterated his country’s support for the country during this time.  Qatar has provided financial assistance to the Republic of The Gambia for the 15th OIC Summit.


On his part, Hon. Minister Tangara thanked Ambassador Al-Kawari for the State of Qatar’s support, not only towards the 15th Summit but also The Gambia’s development at large. He commended the strong bilateral relationship between the two countries and, on behalf of President Adama Barrow, reiterated his and The Gambia’s gratitude to the State of Qatar for their support.


The CEO of the OIC Secretariat in Banjul, Ambassador Yankuba Dibba, joined the Honourable Minister in expressing gratitude to Ambassador Al-Kawari.
