Senegalese Ambassador Bids Farewell to President Barrow

His Excellency President Adama Barrow on Friday, August 30th received His Excellency Bassiru Sene, Ambassador of Senegal to The Gambia, who was at State House to bid the President and The Gambia farewell, having come to the end of his term, after serving for five years. 
Speaking to the press after his meeting with President Barrow, Ambassador Sene expressed great honour to be received by the President, thanking him for everything during his stay in The Gambia.
He also thanked the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Mamadou Tangara and all government officials, members of the National Assembly, and the entire population of The Gambia for the warm hospitality extended to him during his tenure. 
“I came with my embassy staff and colleagues to show how important this day is for me, and to the relationship that exists between The Gambia and Senegal,” he remarked. 
The Ambassador highlighted some of the important areas of cooperation he facilitated between The Gambia and Senegal including in the field of education. He made reference to the construction of a new school in Banjul and the renovation of another school in Kanifing. 
“We also did a very good job in the area of transportation because now GTSC buses are plying from Banjul to Dakar daily, which is very important for the populations,” he added. 
Ambassador Sene also mentioned good cooperation in the area of security, to the extent that for the past five years they did not experience any major crime between the two countries.
