The senior management of the Ministry of Public Service, Administrative Reform, Policy Coordination and Delivery on Friday, October 11th, 2024 bade farewell to the Secretary General and Head of the Civil, Salimatta E.T. Touray, who has come to the end of her active service in civil service.
The ceremony was held at the ministry’s conference hall in Banjul, where the outgoing Secretary General, Salimatta E.T. Touray, was presented with souvenirs.
Addressing the ceremony, the Minister of Public Service, Baboucarr Bouy commended Madam Touray for her service to the nation.
“Today marks the end of your active service to the nation. Working with you as Secretary General and Head of Civil Service was a pleasure. I wish you success in your future endeavours,” Mr Bouy stated.
Both PS Pateh Jah of MoPS and PS Lamin Jawara of PMO thanked outgoing Secretary General Touray for her unending support and service to the nation for the past years. “You have been a significant part of our ministry and civil service in general. Thank you for your commitment and dedication to work, thank you for your leadership style. Your commitment gave us courage and motivation to work harder,” words of PSs Jah and Jawara.
For her part, the outgoing Secretary General, Salimatta E.T. Touray thanked MoPS staff for organising such a historic farewell event, which coincided with her birthday celebration.
She described her tenure as Secretary General and Head of Civil Service of The Gambia as amazing and a great experience, and thanked the staff for their support.
“I won’t forget my interaction with you all. It has been a privilege to serve my country The Gambia, and an honour to serve with you and all Gambia Government partners, both local and international,” she said.
She hailed President Barrow for the confidence and support he bestowed on her throughout her stint as Secretary General and Head of Civil Service.
PS Alieu Loum, Dr. Mariam John and Director CSRPU Sheriff Jallow, all expressed the similar sentiments.
