13 Gambian artists will participate in this year’s Best of the Best musical event, which is slated for 11th May 2024 at Qcity, according to organizers.
Pa Jawara is a top Gambian music promoter. In an interview with the Gambia Daily Life& Entertainment, he explained that the ‘Best of the Best’ is an annual event that promotes strictly Gambian musicians. He said right now it is the only platform in The Gambia that is staged for the Gambian artists to showcase their talents. He said he is organising this year’s event with Mustapha Jallow, known as Stickybee.
“We are expecting more unity to be strengthened in the event , and we are expecting another historic performances from all the artists,” he said.
Jawara informed that they have been organising Best of the Best for a while now, and that this year is the fourth year.
“We really want to keep our industry alive and to create a platform for the upcoming artists to showcase their talents, because until recently, when started organising this event, there had not been any show going on in The Gambia annually that brought all our artists on one stage. So we came up with the idea to create a platform for our own people,” the promoter elucidated.
He explained that the name Best of the Best came in because they believed it’s going to be the best and every artist will be ready to bring in the best out of him or her. “It is a platform where all the artists will get the chance to meet up with their fellow artists in the scene”, he added.
