Vice President Jallow Advocates Enhanced Migrant Support

The Vice President, His Excellency Mohammed B.S Jallow  last week in a meeting with Mr Christopher GASCON, Regional Director of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) West and Central Africa, engaged in discussions revolving around IOM’s interventions within the country.
The discussions primarily focused on IOM’s ongoing resource mobilisation efforts and collaborations with key partners such as the EU. Highlighting their commitment to addressing irregular migration, the Regional Director shed light on IOM’s support initiatives, particularly aiding the voluntary return of migrants from Algeria, Niger, Tunisia, and Libya.
Expressing gratitude for the support rendered in facilitating the voluntary return of migrants, the Vice President emphasised the pressing need for establishing a transition center dedicated to offering psycho-social support for migrant reintegration. 
Furthermore, He advocated for comprehensive follow-up assistance, including skills training and startup opportunities, aimed at facilitating successful reintegration into society.
