President Barrow Pledges more Road, Electricity Projects for Foni

The second leg of His Excellency President Adama Barrow’s Meet the People Tour is underway in the West Coast Region and Greater Banjul Area, and for the Wednesday December 7th engagement, Sibanor Village, in Foni Bintang Karanai, was the meeting point for the surrounding villages of Jarrol, Bondali, Kansala and Berefet.

President Adama Barrow assured the people of Foni of a transformational development in the region never seen there before.

He promised that his government will construct about 50km of roads in Foni in the next five years and that more than 50 communities will be supplied with electricity.

Honorable Abba Sanyang, Minister of Lands, Regional Government and Religion Affairs urged the Imams, Alkalolu and Chiefs in Foni to lead process in that region of the country.

Honorable Dr. Demba Sabally, Minister of Agriculture informed that the government will construct cold stores in Kalagi Village for women to keep their produce there.

Honorable Kaddy Camara, former National Assembly Member for Foni Bondali thanked the President for constructing two skill centres in Ndemban and Kanilai.

She also called the elders to advise their children and youth to stop instigating violence and promote peace.

Honorable Kaddy Camara reiterated their loyalty to the five former NAMs of the president and his government and promised that they will continue to support the President and his development agenda.

Momodou Lamin Jobarteh, Chief of Foni Bintang also thanked President Barrow for constructing roads in Foni.

He called on the people of Foni to protect their forest and appealed to the government to help them protect their forest.
