Trade Ministry, GCCI Discuss Government-Private Sector Partnership

Members of The Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) led by the President Mr. Edrissa Mass Jobe on January 26th, 2023 paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment (MoTIE), Hon. Baboucarr Ousmaila Joof at his office in Banjul.

The meeting afforded the Chamber the opportunity to discuss with Minister Joof ways to strengthen the relationship between government and the private sector in order to spur private sector-led growth and support Gambian businesses.

During their meeting, Minister Joof thanked the delegation from GCCI, noting that the meeting was long overdue. He told them that the Ministry is one for the private sector and the GCCI is the voice of the private sector. He expressed the need for them to work together and coordinate  for the benefit of growth.

The President of the GCCI on behalf of his members congratulated Hon. Joof on his appointment and promised on a continuous partnership.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Lamin Dampha, Permanent Secretary of MoTIE; Mr. Assan Gaye, Deputy Permanent Secretary; Mr. Omar Badjie, Director of Industry and Investment Development; Ndey Tabara Touray, Director of Regional Integration; and Mr. Fabba Jammeh, Director of Employment.
