UNICEF Assures MoPS of Supporting Equitable Future for Gambian Children

The Deputy Representative, UNICEF-Gambia Office has assured The Gambia Government, through the Ministry of Public Service (MoPS) that the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) will remain supportive to the cause of achieving its vision for a more inclusive and equitable future for The Gambian children.
Mr. Armand Gnahore recently delivered this statement during a day’s end-of-year review of UNICEF-Gambia Government Country Programmes 2024-2028.
“We will continue to prioritise evidence-based interventions, advocate increased investments in Gambian children and strengthen collaboration with all stakeholders to ensure that every child in The Gambia can realise their full potential,” Mr. Gnahore stated.
He called for the building of momentum on the year’s successes and for teamwork, with renewed energy and determination to address the challenges ahead.
“We need to deliver more and better. We need to bring innovation in our work, be more focused, think big and impact and empower children and adolescents to actors of the change that impact their life and their future,” Mr. Gnahore concluded.
Mr. Alieu Loum, Deputy Chief of Staff at the Presidency and Head of the Department of Strategic Policy and Delivery (DSPD) said: “when you are doing planning and also reporting on the past activities that you have achieved, be ready to receive constructive criticisms because it will help and guide you.
“We need to feel the impact of the programme to the people we are supposed to feel it. We should not only give nice look to the document, but give fair play to the document for the betterment of our future leaders”.
The ceremony was chaired by Mr. Amet Sallah, Director of Delivery, and moderated by Mustapha Sanyang, Principal, both at DSPD.
