Zone II Champs: Gambia Defeat Senegal

The Gambia female Team A duo, Anna Marie Bojang and Mariama Ginadou beat Senegal Team A duo 2-1 in the ongoing Zone II

Beach Volleyball Championship at the Palma Rima Beach.

They won the first set 21-18, Senegal won the second set 21-12 before Bojang and Ginadou won the final set 15-9 in pool B.

The Male Team B duo Sainey Jawo and Jahara Koita also beat Senegal Team B  2-1. The duo opened their group match winning

the first set 21-7, Senegal winning the second set with 21-17 before Gambia won the deciding set 15-9.

The Gambia male Team A duo Mario Dampha and Laity Nyabally also beat Guinea Conakry Team A duo 2-0. They won the first set

21-5 before winning the final set set 21-17 to sit comfortably.

Speaking at the opening of the games on the behalf of the Zone II Federation and The Gambia Volleyball Federation (GVBF), Bai

Dodou Jallow, the President of both Federations said,  “We are honored to receive all of you in The Gambia. This is indeed a

momentous moment for our Zone and I am hopeful of a great and brighter future .

5 countries are participating in the Zone II Beach Volleyball Championship and is expected to end on Tuesday the 6th of September.
