D2.6 M for Gambia Amputee Football Team - Ahead of Egypt Tournament

The Ministry of Youth and Sports, led by Hon. Bakary Y. Badjie, last week bade farewell to the Gambia Amputee Football team, who left for Cairo, Egypt to participate in 2024 Amputee African Cup of Nations, which com-menced 18th May 2024.
The event marked a significant moment of unity and encouragement as the Gambia Amputee Football National Team sets off to represent their country on an international stage.
The Ministry’s donation is to support the team’s preparation and participation in an upcoming tournament in Egypt. During the presentation ceremony Hon. Badjie presented the national battle flag to the team, highlighting the signifi-cance of the occasion. 
He expressed his pride in the team’s commitment and dedication, and wished them success in the tournament.
Hon. Badjie also reaffirmed the Ministry’s support for the team, urging the players to enhance their performance and to put up strong and respectable performances during the competition.
Minister Badjie reiterated the need for the team to remain disciplined and focused on their goals, reminding them of the nation’s hopes and expectations resting on their shoulders. 
The acting Executive Director, National Sports Council (NSC), Mr. Mahmud Lamin encouraged the players to uphold discipline and play with pride and honor, while representing their country on the international stage.
