Gambia to Host Continental Workers’ Sports

The National Inter-Department Sports Association (NISA) on Thursday, December 15th held a press briefing at the KMC hall, to update on the level of preparations for the Continental Workers in Africa Sports championship which The Gambia will host.  Dubbed “ Afrisport”, the continental sports event is slated for March 2023.

The President of NISA, Saikou B. Jarjue, said to the press:  “We are doing our best to ensure everything goes well and we are confident that we can host the event successfully. We are engaging all the authorities and the Ministry of Youth and Sports is also supporting’’.

 The President of the Organisation of Workers’ Sports in Africa ( L’OSTA) Dr. Elele Malick Atour from Cameroun; the Secretary General from Algeria, Mr. A. Chouchaoui ;and Mr. Badara Ndiye, of Senegal, are currently on a three-day fact-finding mission in the country.

Dr. Elele affirmed that they are in The Gambia to assess the status of the country’s state of preparedness in hosting the upcoming continental  L’ OSTA congress and championship, which is scheduled to take place from 6th to 12th  March 20203.
