President Barrow, AfDB Executives Discuss Development Priorities for Cooperation

Banjul, 27th February 2025: His Excellency President Adama Barrow recently received in audience a high level delegation of the Executive Directors of African Development Bank (AfDB) at State House in Banjul. 
After the meeting, Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Honourable Seedy Keita told the waiting press that the Executive Directors briefed the President on their various engagements in The Gambia positively impacting key development areas in the country.
Minister Keita further said that they have also informed the President and stakeholders about their commitment to deepen the relationship between the Gambia and African Development Bank.
Dr. Nomfundo Xenia Newenya Rapture, head of delegation said that they are so pleased to be warmly received by the President, adding that the visit accorded them the opportunity to assess development progress and see the realities on the ground in all the member countries that AfDB is supporting.
She informed that they would be meeting various stakeholders not only in government but also Civil Society Organisations, women groups, youth, and private sector, and put up strategies and mechanisms for successful implementation of projects. 
“We are humble with the reception we had and after few days we will know how the African Development Bank will support The Gambia in many areas,” she explained.
The AfDB delegation was accompanied by Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Honourable Seedy Keita, Permanent Secretary Abdoulie Jallo and Governor of Central Bank Buah Saidy.
