Abu Dhabi (UNA-OIC) - The Acting Director-General of the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA), Mohammed bin Abd Rabbo Al-Yami stressed that the Global Media Congress hosted by the Emirate capital, Abu Dhabi represents an opportunity for media outlets in the member states to explore latest technologies and best practices in the field of media and works to strengthen acquaintance and coexistence among different peoples and cultures.
“The GMC, which is organized by ADNEC Group and Emirates News Agency (WAM), comes as a testimony to the UAE’s significant and central role in launching global projects and initiatives under the wise leadership of His Highness President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan,” said Al-Yami. “The Congress is the culmination of years-long efforts during which the UAE has been able to build an integrated international media system based on supporting development efforts, promoting tolerance and disseminating knowledge.”
UNA Director-General praised the efforts of the UNA member agency, WAM, in organizing the congress, indicating that these efforts confirm the excellence of the member news agencies and their leadership in exploring and adapting to transformations in the media field.
It is noteworthy that the three-day event (15-17 November 2022), taking place under the theme “Shaping the Future of the Media Industry”, sees participation from more than 1,200 media sector pioneers, specialists, and influencers from six continents in the globe, with more than 30 debates and workshops featuring more than 162 globally renowned speakers.
