The Public Relation Office (PRO) at the National Association of Vocational Skils Taining Institution of The Gambia (NAVSTIG), Mr. Demba Sallah has said that the Government of The Gambia has created immense opportunities for youths in the country by setting up grant programmes.
PRO Sallah was speaking during the graduation ceremony of Vicky’s Training and Skills Centre which concluded the training of 95 students in hairdressing and cosmetology among other skills In a colorful ceremony held at the Metzy hotel in Palma Rima, PRO Sallah called on the graduands to organize themselves to be able to benefit from the opportunities created by the Gambia government as skills greatly contributes to National Development.
Mr. Sallah pointed out that to be successful one needs to be hardworking dedicated and confident. He applauded the proprietress of Vicky’s training and skills centre for her commitment in providing skills for young people in the country for sustainable development.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Gambia Women Chamber of Commerce Mrs. Beatrice Mboge advised the young men and women to be good ambassadors of this country.
She advised them to be cautious of social media which she said could be instrumental in the area of business but can equally damage businesses too.
It is also noteworthy to know that Vicky’s Training Skills Center was established in 1999. The centre is committed in providing quality training and skills designed to suit the needs of the market force. It provides careers to early school leavers and caters for both men and women, home makers and those who could not be absorbed into formal education and employment sector.
The occasion was grace by members of the public and families of those qualified trainees.
